The back garden leads onto wild flower meadows which slope down to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nationaltrust.org.uk\/visit\/essex-bedfordshire-hertfordshire\/ashridge-estate\/in-the-footsteps-of-capability-brown\">Golden Valley<\/a>, part of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nationaltrust.org.uk\/visit\/essex-bedfordshire-hertfordshire\/ashridge-estate\">Ashridge Estate<\/a>. The village has a well stocked shop and sub-post office, a Grade 1 listed medieval\/ Victorian church as well as the popular <a href=\"https:\/\/www.greeneking-pubs.co.uk\/pubs\/hertfordshire\/bridgewater-arms-hotel\/?utm_source=g_places&amp;utm_medium=locations&amp;utm_campaign=PD_pubpage\">Bridgewater Arms<\/a>.<\/p><p>We have direct access through our own back garden gate onto the National Trust&#8217;s 5,000 acre <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nationaltrust.org.uk\/visit\/essex-bedfordshire-hertfordshire\/ashridge-estate\">Ashridge Estate<\/a>.\u00a0 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ashridgehouse.org.uk\/\">Ashridge House<\/a> itself is only 1\/2 a mile or so away,\u00a0 just on the other side of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nationaltrust.org.uk\/visit\/essex-bedfordshire-hertfordshire\/ashridge-estate\/in-the-footsteps-of-capability-brown\">Golden Valley<\/a>. The notorious <a href=\"https:\/\/www.strava.com\/segments\/674433\">Tom&#8217;s Hill<\/a> section rising 63m in 850m up the escarpment from Aldbury to the Ashridge Estate is close by.
